The Academy

A sincere space for the bansuri

Aalap Flute Class is a quiet and sincere space for anyone who wishes to begin a journey with the bansuri. Here, music is not taught in a hurried way, but allowed to grow slowly through breath, listening, discipline, and feeling.

Every student, their own rhythm

Some begin with curiosity, some with a childhood dream, some with deep love for the sound of the flute. Each learner is guided with patience and care.

A strong foundation

The class builds breath control, tone, rhythm, fingering, and musical expression — the roots that let real music grow.

The calm of music

Students are encouraged to listen deeply, feel the beauty of each note, and experience the stillness that music can bring.

Your Teacher

Ayushman

Teaching with patience, honesty, and love

Ayushman is a humble and dedicated flute teacher who believes music should be shared with patience, honesty, and love. His teaching is gentle, thoughtful, and personal — shaped around the journey of each student.

He understands every learner is different. A beginner may need courage before technique, a child may need playfulness before discipline, and an adult may need reassurance before confidence. He teaches with this sensitivity, guiding students gently toward clarity and growth.

Rooted in both practice and expression, he helps students understand breath, sound, rhythm, and the emotion behind every note — creating an atmosphere where learning feels peaceful, creative, and meaningful.

Why the Flute

More than an instrument — a voice from within

Breath & calm

Playing the bansuri trains slow, mindful breathing — a natural path to stillness and focus.

Deep listening

You learn to hear each note fully — a skill that shapes both music and everyday attention.

Living tradition

Step into the depth of Hindustani classical music, carried forward with respect and care.

Expression

Find your own connection with music, and a gentle way to express what words cannot.

The Path

Rooted in Guru-Shishya Parampara

Learning here is not a product, but a sacred and patient journey between teacher, student, and music. There are no shortcuts — Hindustani classical music asks for time, surrender, discipline, and honesty.

Open to all ages & levels — From complete beginners to those with some musical experience — everyone is welcomed onto the path.
A free first month for children — Young learners explore the environment gently, at no charge, to see if they are ready. The only need is sitting tolerance and slowly growing attention.
Commitment over speed — Skills develop with time, but connection, sincerity, and love for music are valued even more. Devotion and regularity matter most.
Lifelong learning — Ayushman continues to learn from his own Guru, and passes on the truth that classical music is not something to finish, but to live with.
